William E. “Bill” Corcoran, age 79, 17 Spruce Street, Bloomsburg, died at 5:48 p. m. Thursday, August 18, 2016 at his home. He had been seriously ill since February, 2016.
Born on September 5, 1936 in Swoyersville, Luzerne County, he was a son of the late Edward and Margaret (McGuiness) Corcoran. He resided in the Bloomsburg area for over 50 years.
Bill was a 1954 graduate of the former Forty Fort High School. He also attended the former Bloomsburg State College for two and one half years
He was last employed at the former Bloom Mills, Inc. in the Human Resources department, where he was employed for 28 years, retiring in 2005. Earlier he was employed by the former P. L. Lawton Trucking Co. in South Centre Township.
Bill was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg. He enjoyed spending summer vacations at the outer banks of North Carolina; riding his bike and spending time with his six grandchildren. He always looked forward to the annual Bloomsburg Fair and working in the Arts and Crafts building for David Millard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Corcoran and a sister, Peg Cervenak.
Surviving are his wife, the former Alice Marie Lunger, with whom he celebrated his 56th wedding anniversary on November 12, 2015; three sons: William J. Corcoran, Rifle, Colo.; Michael J. Corcoran, Royersford; Stephen B. Corcoran, Wyomissing; six grandchildren: Megan, Sean, Caitlin, Ryan, Joshua, and Shea. The last of his immediate family, he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron St., Bloomsburg, on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 1:00 p. m. by Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence. Interment will be made at the convenience of the family in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
The family will greet family and friends at the Church from 12 noon until1 p. m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
