William H. Fitch, Jr.

WILLIAM  H.  FITCH,  JR.

William H. Fitch, Jr., age 97, formerly of  Clarks Green, died at 3:30 p. m. Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Elmcroft of Berwick where he was residing.

Born in Worcester, Mass. on Sept. 2, 1913, he was a son of the late William H., Sr., and Margaret M. (Breeden) Fitch.

He was a graduate of Plainfield High School, Plainfield, N.J. and  a 1938 graduate of the University of Colorado. He resided in Plainfield, N.J. for many years where he owned and operated Fitch Recuperator Co., which was started by his father. Following retirement he moved to Clarks Green, residing there until 2001.

William was a member of the Alumni Association of the University of Colorado and of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Regan, on Feb. 8, 2007 and by a sister, Wilma "Constance" Herron in 1994.

Surviving are a daughter, Deborah Karen Snyder, Round Lake, N.Y. ; a son, William H. Fitch, III, and his wife Lora, Berwick; a grandson, William H. Fitch, IV and a granddaughter Leighann Regan Fitch, both of Berwick. He was the last of his immediate family.

Friends may call on Sunday from 4-6 p. m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, PA.

Graveside services will be held on Monday at 11:30 a. m. in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains, N.J.
