William E. Laubach, age 75, of 217 E. Fifth Street (PO Box 91), Mifflinville, died at 12:13 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was a patient for four days. He was in failing health for two months.
Born in Berwick on November 24, 1939, he was a son of the late Robert C. and Mary E. (Stover) Laubach. He resided in Mifflin Township for 17 years, and previously lived in Berwick. He was a 1957 graduate of Berwick High School.
Bill worked for Penn Dot Maintenance for 23 years, retiring in January 2002. Previously he worked in road construction for several companies.
He attended Emmanuel Bible Church, Berwick. He was a life member of the Bloomsburg Elks 436 and Rangerâs Fire Company, Berwick; and a member of Loyal Order of Moose and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Inverness, Fla.
Bill was a golfer, bowler and football fan, especially the Berwick Dawgs.
Surviving is his wife, the former Randy Jo Byrem, with whom he celebrated 16 years of marriage on November 29, 2014; five children: James W. Laubach, wife Melanie K. Bloomsburg; Sheri L., wife of William McClaflin; Thomas S. Laubach, wife Janet; John A. Laubach, wife Camille; Mindy L. Young, all of Berwick; three step-children: Kelly J. Williams, Oxford; David R. Hock, wife Rebecca, Berwick; A.J. VanHarn, wife Naomi, Plainwell, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; a brother, James Richard âDickâ Laubach, wife Jan, Berwick; and a sister, Sally, wife of Mark Wenner, Nescopeck.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with his pastor, Pastor Scott J. Fetterolf officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 10-11 a.m.
