William J. Robinson
William J. Robinson, age 83, 152 Robinson Road, Danville, died at 11:12 p. m. Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was in failing health since September.
Born in Danville on April 9, 1932, he was a son of the late Charles O., Sr. and Mary J. (Masteller) Robinson. A lifelong resident of Montour County, he graduated from Danville High School in 1950 and also from the former Williamsport Area Community College (now Penn Tech).
William was employed by the former Kennedy Van Saun Corp., Danville, for 25 years and also was a farmer.
He was a member of the Mooresburg United Methodist Church and formerly was a member of the former Foundryville United Methodist Church near Berwick. He also was a member of the United Steel Workers Union, Local 7665, holding several positions, including vice- president and was president at the time of the plant's closing.
William also was member of the Buckhorn Community Fire Company and former scoutmaster of the Mooresburg Boy Scout Troop. He also enjoyed hunting and gardening.
Preceding him in death were two brothers: Harold Robinson and Charles O. Robinson, Jr.
Surviving is his wife, the former Marcella L. Baylor, with whom he celebrated his 58th wedding anniversary on June 14, 2015; a son, Randy W. Robinson, and his wife Teresa, Danville; and a sister, Eleanor, wife of James Cannon, Milton.
Private services were held and interment was made in the Columbia Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville.
