William F. "Fred" Stetler

William F. “Fred”  Stetler, age 85, 131 Main St., Catawissa, and formerly of Danville died on Saturday, June  21, 2014 at 6:20 p. m. in the Geisinger Bloomsburg Health Care Center, Bloomsburg, where he resided for the past four months.

He was born on April 2, 1929 in Danville, a son of the late William and Pearl (Edwards) Stetler. He attended the Danville Public Schools and resided there most of his life before moving to Catawissa several years ago.

Fred was employed by Mahoning Township for many years on its maintenance crew, retiring about 20 years ago.

He was a member of the Danville Moose Lodge;  East End Fire Company and several other local fire companies.

Fred was preceded in death by a sister, Jenny Mott and a brother, Donald Stetler.                                                  

Surviving are two brothers: Howard J. Stetler, Venice, Fla. and George Stetler, Danville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 1 p. m. in Straub’s Cemetery, Frosty Valley, with the Rev. Rebecca L. Horne, pastor of  St. Paul’s “Straubs” Lutheran Church officiating. There will be calling hours.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1415 Bloom Road, Danville.
