Zella Mae Meade

Zella Mae Meade, age 85, formerly of Bloomsburg, died at 1:28 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Grandview Health Homes, Danville, where she was a guest for 11 years.

Born in Hemlock Township, Columbia County on May 25, 1931, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Charlotte E. (Neyhard) Knouse. She lived in Bloomsburg most of her life.

Zella was employed at the former Bloomsburg State Teachers College and Geisinger Medical Center, Danville; and last worked as a caregiver in private homes.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg.

Zella was preceded in death by two brothers: John W. “Jack” Knouse and Joseph W. Knouse, and a sister, Evelyn I. Kinn.

Surviving is a brother, Phillip W. Knouse, also a guest at Grandview Health Homes; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m. in New Rosemont Cemetery, Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg (Espy).

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
