Zoe Whitenight

Zoe  (Beishline)  Whitenight, age 91, 669 Fowlersville Road, Berwick, died in the emergency room of the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 10:33 a. m. She was in failing health for the past year.

Born in North Centre Township on December 31, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Cora (Artman) Beishline. She was a lifelong resident of North Centre Township and a graduate of the former Orangeville High School.

Zoe spent much of her life assisting on the family farm. She was an avid gardener and always grew vegetables,  which she either canned or froze.

She was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Zoe was preceded in death by her husband, Russell R. Whitenight on May 26, 2008 and a sister, Alta Sitler.

Surviving are six children: Marie, wife of Dean Huntington, Dunnellon, Fla.; Richard Whitenight, and his wife Louise, Nescopeck;  Patricia, wife of James Loar, Ocala, Fla.;  Dale L. Whitenight, and his wife Diane, Rohrsburg; Susanne Whitenight, at home; ,Faith Lynn,  and her fiance Michael Brelsford, Dunnellon, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a. m. in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Route 93, Orangeville, with Pastor Deborah Harvey, officiating. Interment will be  in the New Ebenezer Cemetery

Friends may call at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg on Monday from 6-8 p. m.
